Two years ago, early on an August morning after 13 hours…they placed you in my arms. 6lbs, 8oz, 3 weeks early. You had your daddy’s red hair and my nose.
You were everything I was told my body could never create. Everything I thought I would be okay without, and everything I never knew I needed. But oh how I needed you.
You taught me how to love in ways I had never thought possible, taught me patience and understanding, helped me realize what a gift life is. Your tiny fingers wrapped around mine would become the greatest of life’s fulfillments.
You are me. I am you. I am your mother, and that is and always will be the greatest thing I will ever be.
