Our Clomid Baby: 20 week Anatomy Scan

We had our anatomy scan today. About three hours afterwards, my ob called me to tell me Sloan has an echogenic intracardiac focus. Not knowing what that meant other than that there was something abnormal showing with his heart, I immediately got a lump in my throat and started to cry. She calmed me down and explained that EIF is found in a very small percent of pregnancies on ultrasound. It’s a brightened spot in the left ventricle of his heart created by calcium deposits. Typically they break apart and disolve before birth. She told me not to worry as this does not usually result in any health issues. We do have to do genetic testing to determine is its anything more. A pregnant woman never wants to hear anything out of the ordinary is seen, but I’m doing my best to remain calm until we complete the testing.
