Empty Arms

Your absence is profound. I ache to hold you in my arms again, to smell your hair and feel your skin. I need your tiny fingers to wrap around mine, to touch your toes, to nuzzle your pudgy cheeks. Your death is still so immediate and fresh, but it already feels as if it’s been an eternity of agonizing grief.
